1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, making a booking, or otherwise using GoBook.ng's services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and GoBook.ng ("we," "us," or "our"). We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.

2. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms:

• "Platform" refers to the GoBook.ng website, mobile application, and all related services.
• "User" refers to any individual who accesses or uses our Platform, including both Guests and Hosts.
• "Guest" refers to a User who books accommodation through our Platform.
• "Host" refers to a User who lists property for booking on our Platform.
• "Property" refers to any hotel, apartment, or accommodation listed on our Platform.
• "Booking" refers to a reservation made through our Platform for accommodation at a Property.
• "Service Fee" refers to the fee charged by GoBook.ng for facilitating bookings.

3. Account Registration

3.1 Account Creation

To use certain features of our Platform, you must create an account. When creating an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Maintain the security of your password and account
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

3.2 Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use our services. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or engaged in fraudulent, illegal, or harmful activities.

4. Booking & Reservations

4.1 Making a Booking

When you make a booking through GoBook.ng, you are entering into a direct agreement with the Host of the Property. GoBook.ng acts as an intermediary platform to facilitate this transaction.

4.2 Booking Confirmation

A booking is confirmed only when:

• Payment has been successfully processed (for online payments), or
• You have received a booking confirmation from us (for pay-at-property bookings)
• You have received a confirmation email or SMS with your booking reference number

4.3 Property Information

While we strive to ensure all property listings are accurate and up-to-date, we do not guarantee the accuracy of all property information. Hosts are responsible for maintaining accurate listings. If you encounter significant discrepancies, please contact us immediately.

4.4 Guest Obligations

As a Guest, you agree to:

• Arrive within the specified check-in times
• Treat the property with respect and care
• Comply with all house rules and property policies
• Report any damages or issues immediately
• Provide accurate guest counts and information

5. Payment Terms

5.1 Payment Methods

GoBook.ng accepts multiple payment methods including:

• Debit/Credit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Verve)
• Bank Transfer
• USSD Payment
• Mobile Money
• Pay at Property (where available)

5.2 Pricing & Fees

The total price displayed includes:

• Nightly accommodation rate set by the Host
• GoBook.ng service fee
• Applicable taxes

5.3 Payment Processing

For online payments, charges are processed immediately upon booking confirmation. For pay-at-property bookings, payment is collected by the Host according to the property's policies.

5.4 Currency

All prices are displayed in Nigerian Naira (NGN) unless otherwise stated. For international cards, currency conversion is handled automatically by your card issuer.

6. Cancellation Policy

6.1 Guest Cancellations

Our standard cancellation policy is:

• More than 24 hours before check-in: Full refund minus service fee
• Less than 24 hours before check-in: 50% refund
• No-show: No refund

Individual properties may have different cancellation policies, which will be clearly stated on the property listing and in your booking confirmation.

6.2 Host Cancellations

If a Host cancels your confirmed booking, you will receive a full refund and may be offered alternative accommodation of equal or better quality. Hosts who cancel bookings may face penalties.

6.3 Refund Processing

Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days to your original payment method. For pay-at-property bookings cancelled before payment, no refund is necessary.

6.4 Force Majeure

In cases of force majeure events (natural disasters, government restrictions, etc.), special cancellation terms may apply. We will work with both Guests and Hosts to find fair solutions.

7. User Conduct

All Users agree not to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Engage in discriminatory practices based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, or any other protected characteristic
• Use the Platform for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Attempt to circumvent the Platform to conduct transactions directly
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation
• Use automated systems or bots to access the Platform
• Copy, modify, or distribute Platform content without permission
• Post inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other Users

8. Host Responsibilities

If you list a property on GoBook.ng, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete property information
• Maintain accurate availability calendars
• Honor all confirmed bookings
• Provide clean, safe, and accurately described accommodations
• Comply with all applicable laws, including tax obligations
• Respond promptly to guest inquiries and booking requests
• Not discriminate against guests
• Maintain appropriate insurance coverage
• Handle guest complaints professionally

8.1 Property Verification

GoBook.ng reserves the right to verify property information through inspections, documentation requests, or other means. Hosts must cooperate with verification processes.

8.2 Host Payments

Host payments are processed 24 hours after guest check-in, minus GoBook.ng's commission. Hosts must provide accurate banking information for payment transfers.

9. Intellectual Property Rights

The GoBook.ng Platform, including all content, features, functionality, logos, trademarks, and branding, is owned by GoBook.ng and protected by Nigerian and international intellectual property laws.

9.1 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Platform for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.

9.2 User Content

By posting content on our Platform (reviews, photos, etc.), you grant GoBook.ng a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that content for Platform operation and marketing purposes.

10. Limitation of Liability

GoBook.ng acts as an intermediary platform connecting Guests and Hosts. We do not own, operate, or control properties listed on our Platform.

10.1 Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• The Platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee the accuracy of property listings
• We are not liable for disputes between Guests and Hosts
• We are not responsible for property conditions, safety, or quality
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages

10.2 Maximum Liability

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of our Platform shall not exceed the amount of fees paid by you to GoBook.ng in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10.3 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold GoBook.ng harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform or violation of these Terms.

11. Dispute Resolution

11.1 Good Faith Resolution

We encourage Users to first attempt to resolve disputes directly with each other in good faith. GoBook.ng is available to mediate disputes when necessary.

11.2 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with Nigerian law.

11.3 Jurisdiction

You agree that any legal action or proceeding arising from these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes:

• We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
• For material changes, we will notify you via email or Platform notification
• Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically to stay informed of any updates.

13. Miscellaneous

13.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and GoBook.ng regarding use of the Platform.

13.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

13.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

13.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
